Well, right now I'd rather be a loonie than a greenback!
In-frickin-credible...
The Canadian Dollar (the loonie) is now worth $1.10US. That's up five cents in just FOUR trading days.
I remember growing up going to Buffalo, NY (about a 30-min drive) Christmas shopping every year. At that time, the C$ was worth about 93 cents US...
And now... the US dollar isn't even worth 93 cents CDN.
I'm seriously thinking about doing my shopping in Buffalo this year.
Some Canadian retailers are dropping prices to come in line with US prices. For example, Chapters/Indigo (CDN equiv. to Barnes and Nobles) is now charging the US price for all books. (Hallmark needs to do the same with greeting cards!)
But... as some of you know, I need a new home computer. Electronics are WAY cheaper in the US than they are here.
Yeah, yeah... I know what you're thinking
andysaunders... you'll believe it when you actually see my new computer.
