OK, in an incredibly rare occurence, I'm posting a "political commentary" for once.
I know almost
nothing about Burma/Myanmar or its political history, but it just pisses me off that the goverment there is being so inward focused that they're not allowing anyone else to come and help them in the turmoil they're in... and then I heard they did the same thing when the tsunami hit a few years ago.
(OSC:
andysaunders Anagrams of TSUNAMI?)
Part of me is so blazing pissed off that I don't care if hundreds of thousands of people -- many of them innocent, oppressed people under the junta regime -- die. It's governments like that that irk me to no end. For pity's sake people, the WHOLE WORLD wants to give you financial aid and bring specialists in to give you what you can't do for yourself, but no. No one's allowed in, and they money you'll take, they want it on their terms (likely to line their own pockets and not even help those who need it most.
Let them all die. I don't even care. May the death toll rise from 50,000 to several hundred thousand. Then the world will say to them, "you didn't want help. Lie in your own bed..." or the like.
